The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine multi-role fighter built by a European consortium made up of the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy. With 4 countries involved it is necessary to have what they call Tranches (similar to contracts) that are broken down into batches and blocks. The development of the Eurofighter began in 1983 with the prototype maiden flight of the Eurofighter taking place on March 27, 1994. The first fully equipped Tranche 2 Instrumented Production Aircraft (IPA7) took to the skies on January 16, 2008. The Spanish Air Force 142 Escuadron (Squadron) "Tigers" of the Ala 14 (Wing) began in 1980 with the arrival of the Mirage F.1 fighter. The 142 Squadron is a sister to the 141 Squadron both located at Los Llanos AFB, near Albacete Spain. By the end of 2018 sixty one of the seventy three Eurofighters ordered by the Ejercito del Aire (Army of the Air - Spanish Air Force) had been delivered. Ala 14 was fully operational with the Eurofighter by 2013. EF2000 C.16-48 MSN 11-28/14-12 Serial SS029 was manufactured in 2011. True 1/72 scale. Professionally painted. Great attention to detail. All markings are Tampoed (pad applied). Option to display the model on a stand that is provided. Model can be shown with the landing gear in the down or up positions. Canopy can be displayed open or closed.
