A derivative of the Airbus A320 with a stretched fuselage, the Airbus A321 went into service in 1994 and is a twin engine, narrow body, short to medium range commercial jet that can be outfitted to typically carry 185 to 236 passengers. Airbus has subsequently released other variants of the A321 which include longer range models and a more efficient version, the Airbus A321neo - new engine option - which offers better fuel economy.
