HERPA RAAF PC21 1/72 NO 4 SQN 54-048 (**)

True-to-scale, this 1/72 scale, Limited Edition Royal Australian Air Force Pilatus PC-21 manufactured by Herpa measures approximately 6-5/16-inches long with a 4-15/16-inch wingspan. After having successfully trained their upcoming pilots in the Pilatus PC-9 for more than two decades, the Royal Australian Air Force opted to replace their aging fleet of aircraft in 2020 with four Pilatus PC-21 turboprop planes, which is currently thought to be the world's most advanced pilot training aircraft, as it was specifically designed to transition pilots to more advanced airplanes in a shorter time than its predecessor. Equipped with a digital power management system, automatic yaw compensation, a pressurized cockpit, air conditioning, an anti-G system and onboard oxygen generation, the Pilatus PC-21 is easy to fly, yet it can readily simulate many characteristics of fighter aircraft. Additionally, because it has been outfitted with hydraulically assisted ailerons and roll spoilers, it can produce authentic fighter-like roll rates that exceed 200 degrees per second. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the RAAF, the tail of this Pilatus PC-21 - A54-049 - which is operated by the No 4 Squadron from the RAAF Williamtown Base has been adorned with a noteworthy 100 logo to mark the occasion.
